Dear Members,
Thank you to those of you who took the time to respond to our member satisfaction survey. The results will help us serve you better in the future. Approximately 10% of the members who attend the gym on a daily basis participated in the survey. To show our appreciation to those of you who participated, we entered each of your names into a raffle. Three of you won our beautiful J’s Big Gym windbreaker which we hope you wear in good health. The lucky winners are listed on the blue box you clicked to get here.
Two thirds of you responded that you are fitness enthusiasts and 40% said you come to the gym four (4) times a week. Slightly more than a quarter of the respondents said your goal is to lose weight while slightly less than a quarter said your goal is general fitness. The same number of members come before work as come after work and consistent with our own data a quarter of the members come between 5:00pm and 8:00pm. Most of you live locally and walk to get here.
The thought that most of you put into your answers was appreciated by us. An extra thank you to those of you who submitted your own comments or requests. It was gratifying to see the level of satisfaction among our members. We are happy when you are happy, and hope to continue providing a better and better level of service as time goes on. As for specific requests:
Several of you asked for paper towel dispensers. At one time we did provide paper towels, but we replaced them with hot air dryers in the locker rooms. This was done in an effort to maintain a level of cleanliness within the gym. Unfortunately, when paper towels were available they were used to wipe down the machines but not always disposed of properly. A decision was therefore made to do away with paper towels. We also used to provide terrycloth towels as a service to our members. We continued this until all the towels disappeared.
We attempt to maintain our equipment on as timely a basis as possible. To that end, we request that if you notice a machine that is not working properly, please notify the front desk.
A number of you were unhappy with the fact that the free weights are consistently not put back in their proper locations. WE AGREE WITH YOU ON THIS MATTER 100%. Please feel free to come to us with suggestions for dealing with this issue. We expect to be implementing a plan to deal with this issue in the very near future.
Other issues for our members are: better music quality, longer weekend hours, the overall condition of our locker rooms/bathrooms. We are continuously seeking to improve the conditions of the Gym.
